Privacy Policy

What AllClays keeps about you, for how long, who processes it, and what deleting your Account keeps.

What we keep

  • Your email address and your display name. Your display name shows on the Rounds you score.
  • The version of the Terms you accepted, and when.
  • That you declared you're 18 or older, at a time, through the web or the app. Nothing else about your age.
  • Your Rounds, with their Attempts: every hit and miss, and when each was recorded.
  • Your Guests' names, as you typed them, kept with your Rounds and deleted with them.
  • The Results links of your Completed Rounds, each with when it was turned on and when it was turned off. Anyone holding one can open it without signing in, and sees the club, the Course, the Layout and the day, your display name as its Scorer, and each Shooter's name, place and Score. Search engines don't keep it. Turn off results link stops it showing your results.
  • Links: beside each Guest on a Results link, This one's me lets someone sign in and confirm that Guest was them, which attaches that Shooter to their Account, under the name you gave it. A Link stays when its Results link is turned off. Deleting a Round deletes its Results links and Links, keeping only each link's code and when the Round was deleted, so the link says it's gone. Deleting your Account deletes your Rounds in progress, a Round you're correcting among them, in the same way. For your Completed Rounds, it turns their Results links off, keeping only each code, and their Links stay, so each linked Account keeps its results.
  • Your Drafts, and the Layouts you publish. A Draft you start for a club as its Staff is shared with the club's other Staff, and stays the club's if you stop being Staff there.
  • The Reports you file on Layouts, with the reason you chose, your note and when you filed each one, kept for Administrators. After you delete your Account they stay, with nothing linking them to you.
  • The publishers you've hidden, each with the Layout you hid them from and when, deleted with your Account. A publisher is never told you hid them, and you never learn who they are.
  • Your Friend code, and any you replaced; your friends, with which of you added the other and when; the people you've blocked, and when; and the Rounds offered to you or by you, with when each was offered and any Not me. All of it is deleted with your Account.
  • A Club claim still waiting is deleted. One that was decided, withdrawn or closed stays as the club's history, with the role you gave and how it ended but not your name, and its phone number was cleared when it ended.
  • A Staff invite's email address is dropped once it's accepted, declined or cancelled, or lapses 14 days after it's made. Staff invites you sent stay with the club, without your name.
  • The clubs you star for Your clubs, and when you starred each, deleted with your Account.
  • If an Administrator bars your Account from publishing, that it's barred, and since when. If you delete a barred Account, its email is kept, hashed, so a new Account with that email starts barred, until an Administrator lifts the bar.
  • Notify me: that you asked, on the Stats page, to be emailed once when a paid plan launches, and when you asked.
  • When a Round's upload can't be stored, a record of the problem, with what the app sent, its version and an ID for the app on your phone. What was sent is kept until the Round next uploads, and the record until your Account is deleted.
  • Club code opens: each time someone opens a listed club's Club code, the code, when it was opened, whether in the app or on the web, the phone's or computer's operating system and, from the app, its build if it names one. They're counted for the Figures, which Administrators see, and kept indefinitely. An open keeps no IP address, location, Account or Round.
  • A session for each browser or phone you're signed in on, which ends after 90 days unused. It keeps no IP address, and nothing about the browser or phone.

What friends see

  • No one finds you by your name or email address. Only someone holding your Friend code can add you as a friend, and its link carries your display name, so anyone it reaches sees that name. Replace code stops the old one working.
  • Your friends see your display name, and how many Rounds you've shot together.
  • Your friends also see your Completed Rounds and their scorecards: the club, the Layout, the day, your Score, your hits and misses at each Station, and your place in the squad, but no one else's name or results. They don't see your Breakdowns or statistics. This is on unless you turn Friends see my Rounds off on the friends screen in the app or the friends page on the web, and Hide from friends on a Round keeps that one from them.
  • A friend who puts you in their squad keeps your display name in their Round as it was that day, with your results, as for any Shooter. Once they complete it, it's offered to you, with the squad's names and Scores, and it counts for you only once you choose Add to my Rounds. Each friend of theirs in the squad is offered it too, so each sees your name and Score in it, even if you aren't friends with them.
  • The friend who scored it sees your Shooter marked Offered until you answer, then Linked once you add it, or Guest if you choose Not me.
  • You can choose Unfriend or Block on a friend at any time. They won't be told, and someone you block can't add you again from any Friend code.

What stays on your phone

The app checks your age with your phone's store when it can. The phone keeps the result, and the date it checked. What the store says about your age never leaves your phone: we never see it.

What we don't keep

  • No analytics service, and no tracking.
  • No location.
  • The limits on how often codes and requests can be sent keep no IP address or email address.

Who processes it

  • Vercel hosts the site and the service behind the app, and processes IP addresses to deliver and protect them.
  • Neon hosts the database, which holds everything we keep.
  • Resend sends sign-in codes, so it processes your email address.
  • Sentry, in the US, receives reports of errors and 10% of traces from the site, the service and the app, and keeps both for 30 days, with no Account, email address or IP address. A trace times the app's start, with its slow and frozen frames, or a page or request, named by its route's pattern rather than its address.

We don't sell what we keep, show ads, or share it with anyone else, unless the law makes us.

Deleting your Account

You can delete your Account at any time:

  • In the app: open the Account tab and tap Delete Account.
  • On the web: sign in, open Account from the Account menu at the top of any page, and choose Delete Account.
  • Either way, we email a fresh code to your address to make sure it's you. Enter it, read what deletion keeps, and confirm. Your Account is deleted at once.

What's deleted: your Account, profile and sign-in method, your sessions, your Drafts, any Rounds in progress, your upload problem records, your Notify me and the publishers you've hidden. Drafts you started for a club are deleted too, though the club's Staff share them. Your friends, your Friend codes and the people you've blocked are deleted, and Rounds offered to you or by you stop being offered.

What's kept: your Completed Rounds, indefinitely, as Anonymous Rounds for Layout statistics, with your name, your Guests' names and their exact times removed, so they can't be traced to you. While another Account is linked in one of them, it keeps the hour it started, in UTC, so that Account's history still shows the day it was shot; the hour goes once no Account is linked in it. In other people's Rounds you shot in, as their friend or linked from a Results link, you stay as a Guest under the name the Round shows for you, which may be your display name. So their Rounds still say who shot. The Layouts you published stay for other shooters, with no link to you. The Reports you filed stay for Administrators, with nothing linking them to you. If your Account is barred from publishing, its email is kept, hashed, so a new Account with that email starts barred. A Club claim still waiting is deleted. One that was decided, withdrawn or closed stays as the club's history, with the role you gave and how it ended but not your name, and its phone number was cleared when it ended. A Staff invite's email address is dropped once it's accepted, declined or cancelled, or lapses 14 days after it's made. Staff invites you sent stay with the club, without your name.

Our backups keep a deleted Account for up to 35 days, and then it's gone from them too.

Adults only

Only adults hold Accounts, as the Terms say. A Guest of any age is known only by the name their Scorer typed.
